On June 19th, 2019, the illustration "ネイル" by Spiritkits was embedded in bitcoin's blockchain in transaction 4986e9cd20b75bb534df92e60b232945e18274f4c46d25b8853af9bdda5166b8 . The 1,700 byte image was encoded entirely on-chain, 20 bytes at a time, using 85 recipient addresses to hold the data. When these output addresses are converted to hex and the 1 byte network ID and 4 byte checksum are removed, they reconstruct the original illustration exactly.

This embedding predates the Ordinal protocol by 3.5 years and is one of the oldest examples of an extremely limited set of historical images embedded in bitcoin's blockchain pre-ordinals.

ネイル's legacy and provenance lives on in the form of Inscription # 18278031 (Inscription ID 7d01687fe52f748f69f0136c9e82536f05d3d1a000ca863e18b8f7e26701fba1i0 ), the first byte-perfect inscription of the original illustration, created by the same address 133vM2SR5TRk6fNyvNRLEzEWJs4VPrVcKP that Spiritkits used to originally embed it in 2019.
